Now Offering DySIS the Latest Colposcopy TechnologyJul 19, 2016
Dedicated to providing our patients with the latest in women's healthcare, Plaza OB/GYN is now using DySIS Technology during colposcopy examinations following an abnormal Pap smear test result. DySIS includes a new technology called Dynamic Spectral Imaging that takes accurate measurements through the course of the examination. An abnormal pap smear can mean cervical cell changes, which may indicate inflammation or pre-cancerous changes that could develop into cervical cancer if left untreated.
Patients are able to take a more in depth look at what is happening during their colposcopy procedure, while physicians are able to accurately identify abnormal areas. Results then are summarized on the DySISmap, which assists with the selection of biopsy sites and therefore can reduce the number of biopsies taken. Patients can view and discuss the results on the DySISmap with their physician to determine the next best steps.
